Call for abstracts

The European Delirium Association meetings give a unique opportunity to present your scientific work in an environment of delirium specialists. Delirium work is truly multidisciplinary and it will be hard to find better critical appraisal than here.

We welcome basic and clinical research. Topics should be categorized into following headings - though not mutually exclusive - with some suggestions what this might mean:
  • Epidemiology (prevalence, surveys, follow-up, mortality)
  • Diagnostics (scales, scores, MRI, EEG, diagnostic apparatus, CSF)
  • Etiology/Pathophysiology (cholinergic deficiency, blood brain barrier)
  • Prevention (clinical programs, pre-intervention medication RCTs, infrastructure, screening, weaning)
  • Risk and precipitating factors (dementia, infection)
  • Treatment and management (medication, structured setting, nursing care)
  • Clinical presentation (hyperactive delirium, uncommon cases, psychopathology)
Note that there are two types of presentation:
  • Oral presentation preferred
    10 min including discussion
  • Poster presentation only
Formatting guidelines: Please see details on the abstract submission page
Those opting for "oral presentation preferred" may be asked to present their work in form of a poster - time and space are limited, so we cannot guarantee that your submission will get the floor; all "oral presentation preferred" submissions will undergo formal peer review.
Most submissions opting "poster presentation only" will get the opportunity to present their work.

Submission deadlines:
  • Abstract submission is now closed
If you did not meet the deadline, please contact the organizers directly.
Note that for "poster presentation only" proposals (and invited speakers), we will allow for editing of content (i.e. abstract) up to and including Sunday, 30th September 2012.
